The 2009 Delta Christmas Celebration!

The Delta Christmas Celebration, an annual event for families in the Helena-West Helena community, took place on Friday, December 4th from 5:00 - 7:00pm. Over 195 participated and received a winter coat and gifts. Over 150 volunteers participated, including the Helena-West Helena Police and Fire departments. The fire department delivered invitations to every household. More than 25 churches and organizations provided funding,supplies and volunteers.

Activities included the: Book Shop (Kiwanis), Candy Shop (Young Life), Craft Shop (Delta Fellowship), Christmas Card Shop (Nettleton High School Jonesboro), Music Shop (Pastor Andrew Gibson, Gayle Maloch & Martha Coop), Photo Shop (Second Baptist, Little Rock), Volunteer Station (Methodist Women), Keep the Community Clean workshop (Teach for America), Gift Shop for Parents (Delta Jewels), Gift Shop for Children (local biking group), and the Live Nativity re-enactment led by Zappora Mondy, a CBF student.go intern from Helena. Local children also made ornaments for Greenville Elementary School in Fayetteville as a way to give back to another community. A meal was served to all children and their families.
