CBF Responds to Haiti - What You Can Do
Steve and Nancy James, field personnel in Haiti, have and are attempting now to begin assessing the needs and report back how we can help. In the meantime, our encouragement is:
1) PRAY - No explanation needed; just PRAY.
2) GIVE - Financial contributions are the best thing everyone can give right now. Money will be needed in order to fund the relief needs. You can donate through the fund established by CBF Atlanta. You can give online through Donate to Haiti Relief or by sending a check to Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, P.O. Box 101699, Atlanta, GA 30392, indicating fund No. 17015 "Haiti Response."
ALSO, contributions can be sent to our office in Little Rock, designated for Haiti Relief, and we will gladly forward your donation.
3) GO - NO, not yet! But in time many people will be needed in the long-term efforts Cooperative Baptists and partners will engage in. If you might be interested when the time comes, contact CBFAR Coordinator Ray Higgins at our office.
From Chris Boltin, short term assignments and partnerships manager at the CBF Resource Center in Atlanta, "We need to hear from you so that when specific projects are identified, we will be able to quickly match the need with the resource." Those interested in serving in Haiti should complete a CBF Disaster Response Application to list their skills and experience.
You can follow the continuing developments at the CBF Portal on Haiti Response. Also, we have updates from Charles Ray, CBF Disaster Response Coordinator, available here.
